Ships Arrive for San Francisco Fleet Week 2024

The USS Tripoli (LHA 7), USS Somerset (LPD 25), and the unmanned surface vessel Ranger (OUSV 3) have arrived in San Francisco for Fleet Week 2024.

The America-class amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7), the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25), and the unmanned surface vessel Ranger (OUSV 3) are in San Francisco to support Fleet Week 2024, which runs from October 7 to 14.

This year’s event will feature Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen from various ships and military units participating in a week of activities. Notable participants include the Coast Guard’s Legend-class maritime security cutter USCG Bertholf (WMSL 750) and the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax-class frigate HMCS Regina (FFH 334).

Fleet Week also includes a robust disaster response exercise, which provides crucial joint training for military and local government agencies to prepare for natural and man-made disasters, such as earthquakes and wildfires.

Service members will engage with the local community through various community outreach projects and weekly entertainment events. Free concerts featuring Navy, Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force bands will take place across San Francisco. For a complete concert schedule, visit the San Francisco Fleet Week website.
