Alaska Airlines expanded its cargo division after the merger with Hawaiian Airlines, established new leadership, and oversaw operations.

Ian Morgan named Alaska Airlines vice president of cargo; Jason Berry named Alaska Air Group executive vice president of cargo

This week, the Alaska Airlines Board of Directors elected Ian Morgan as Alaska Airlines’ new vice president of cargo. At the same time, Jason Perry was named executive vice president of Alaska Air Group parent company, Inc., while continuing as president of Horizon Air.

Morgan will lead Alaska Airlines Cargo’s day-to-day cargo operations and approximately 600 employees. He will also manage the continued growth of Alaska Air Group’s cargo business, which is operated by Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Perry will provide commercial oversight of the cargo operations while continuing in his independent role as President of Horizon Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alaska Air Group.

“We are very excited about this new chapter for Alaska Air Cargo,” said Ben Minicucci, Air Group President and CEO. “With these leaders in place, we are well positioned for unlimited future success as we grow and expand our shipping operations to meet the needs of everyone who relies on us.”

At Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, cargo plays a vital role in the communities the airlines serve. Cargo is a strategic business function, enabling both airlines to meet a variety of customer needs.

The combination of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines presents a unique opportunity to integrate complementary cargo networks, strengthening both brands globally and domestically and leveraging cargo more strategically. Both companies share knowledge and understanding of the transportation needs of communities that rely entirely on air travel.
