Sponsorship Exam
Candidates wishing to obtain a Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS), Graduate Marine Engineering (GME), or Electrician courses must pass a sponsorship exam from a shipping company before attending IMU-CET. Written Online Exam
The first phase of all Sponsorship Exams is the Written Online Test. This web-written test is conducted to check the basic knowledge of candidates. Medical Examination

IMU CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test)
IMU CET, also known as (the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test), is a standard Merchant Marine Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Maritime University. Candidates will participate in the advising process and will also have the opportunity to study at IMU locations and affiliated universities. IMUCET exam is conducted twice a year. The December Merchant Navy exam is open to sponsors only and is currently only open to DNS courses.
This event, held in May or June, is aimed at obtaining a Bachelor of Marine Engineering, a Bachelor of Maritime Science, and DNS. The number of applicants in December will be significantly lower than in May and June. Another thing about the Merchant Navy exam in December is that some universities are not participating in counseling as they were in May and June. IMUCET’s Test Pattern
As per the test pattern, IMU CET 2022 consists of 6 sections of 200 MCQ questions carrying a total of 200 marks.
- The Physics Mathematics course consists of 50 questions in each subject.
- There will be 25 questions in each subject: Chemistry, English, General Knowledge, and Aptitude. All questions in these sections must be answered within 3 hours or 180 minutes.
- Each question contains four choices. A grade is given for each correct answer, and a negative grade is given for each incorrect answer.
- IMUCET 2022 will be conducted in English.
IMU-CET Exam 2022 Syllabus
Similar to the eligibility criteria for the exam, the exam consists of topics that students are familiar with and can easily tackle. However, this exam is not easy to pass, and you may have to study hard. The IMU CET 2022 exam syllabus is similar to the prescribed syllabus for classes XI and XII for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, GK, English, CBSE/ISE/State Board Skills.
