Types of Merchant Ship Cargo 

If you’re thinking of starting your career at sea,  you need to be clear about what type of cargo ship you’ll be sailing on. The type of bulk carrier you choose will have a major impact on your career as a merchant seafarer.

Bulk carrier

This type of cargo ship primarily delivers unpackaged bulk cargoes, including ore, coal, cement, and other similar materials.

Refrigerated ships

These ships transport perishable products such as vegetables, dairy products, fish, and meat, so they are usually temperature-controlled.
