The groundbreaking ceremony for Kaderer’s wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) “Windmaker”. Was held at Hanwha Ocean (formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) in South Korea Keel Laid. Eneti, which merged with Kaderer last year, has ordered two GustoMSC NG16000X jackup vessels from Hanwha Ocean in 2021. Her Wind Maker, formerly known as Nessie, and her sister ships can carry up to 20- Wind Makers. Megawatt turbine with a maximum depth of 65 meters. The vessel will be equipped with her 2,600-tonne leg orbital crane from Huisman Equipment. And will have a main deck area of 5,400 square meters.
The estimated delivery date for the Wind Maker is the first quarter of 2025. Back in December 2022, Seajacks UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eneti, entered into a contract with an undisclosed customer for a transport and installation project scheduled to begin in 2025. His Wind Maker, the first of his two NG16000X-WTIVs at Cadeler, seals the deal. A year later, Seajacks UK entered into a similar agreement with an undisclosed customer regarding the transportation and installation of wind turbines. Mobilization will begin in the first quarter of 2027, and the contract will be carried out by one of Kaderer’s two WTIVs currently under construction in South Korea.
