US-based Universal Hydrogen has performed a groundbreaking Hydrogen-Powered Aircraft at California’s Mojave Air and Space Port. They tested a 1-megawatt (MW) fuel cell using liquid hydrogen. Marking the most extensive trial of its kind globally. The test simulated a regional airline flight and lasted one hour and 40 minutes.

Hydrogen fuel cells offer promise as a carbon-free alternative for flights, particularly for regional routes. They overcome restrictions faced by electric-powered flights due to weight and energy density issues.
