A US-linked bulk carrier has been struck in a suspected Houthi missile attack. The incident took place in the Gulf of Aden. Some crew members were spotted in lifeboats after abandoning the ship.

According to security reports, seafarers in the area reported a loud bang. A large plume of smoke was seen after the Houthi missile struck the Barbados-flagged ship. The ship was found severely damaged by the Houthi attack.

A US defence official and security reports recognized the vessel as the 50,448-dwt True Confidence (built in 2011).
